Eat Healthy Food – 3 Tips Anyone Can Do

If you want to preserve your health and avoid getting fat, eating healthy food is an absolute must. Yet, in today’s society, it seems as if it’s getting harder and harder to eat right since we’re surrounded by a variety of low quality food choices and enticing commercials that make it difficult to tell good food from bad.

In this article I want to share 3 tips that you can use in your day to day life to eat healthy food. Use these and you will find it much easier to give your body the food it really needs.

1. Read product labels – Simple, right? Yet most of us don’t do it. We base our shopping decisions on factors such as price and how the box looks. A simple glance at the product label on the back of each item will tell us a lot about what we’re about to be putting into our mouth.

The product label lists the amount of calories and the nutrients this food contains. It’s quite easy to see how much fat, sugar, and artificial ingredients each item contains. Being informed is the first step toward a healthier diet.

2. Avoid frozen or canned food – I know these products make life easier. I know you don’t have a lot of time to cook. What can I say? I think your health is worth the extra time and effort, don’t you?

The facts are that fresh food, generally, is better for you than preserved or frozen food. It is simply less refined. Buying your food fresh usually means that it’s richer in nutrients, lower in chemicals, and overall better for you.

3. Drink it plain – What you drink is just as important to your health as what you eat. You need to make sure that you’re not drinking your calories and chemicals without even knowing about them.

A good rule of thumb to go by is to drink plain beverages. The plainer the better. Water is at the top of the list, followed by tea or black sugar and freshly squeezed juices (though these may be high in calories). Sodas, designer coffees, sugar rich drinks, and energy drinks, often contain too much sugar, artificial sweeteners, or calories for your own good. So stick to plain drinks.

Follow these 3 tips and you will find it much easier to eat and drink healthy for the rest of your life.

6 Tips to Beginning a Healthy Lifestyle

Adopting a healthy lifestyle sometimes requires a support system. Working out can be much more fun when you’re accompanied by someone else. And if you lack self-motivation, a solo workout and healthy eating can be challenging. If you’re ready to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle, you’ll need to adopt some healthy habits to help you reach your goals. Here are six tips to help you adopt a healthy fitness and lifestyle regimen.

1. Plan your workout schedule. Plan out your weekly schedule just as you would with work. Make yourself and your health a priority. Schedule in workout sessions on a daily basis just as you would a meeting for work. Commit to going to your workouts.

2. Get a workout buddy. Family and/or friends are a great place to start. Having a workout buddy can help motivate you, push you and guide you during workouts. In addition, working out with someone else helps keep you accountable. You’re more likely to stay on track when you’ve got someone else counting on you for a workout.

3. Find a class that inspires you. What type of exercise will get you to the gym? What’s most important in the beginning and throughout your healthy lifestyle is to participate in workouts and activities that inspire you to move. Do you love cardio dance classes, body sculpting class or boot camp at your local gym? Determine which activity you would like to do most and gravitate to that activity. In addition, classes are a great way to start working out. Classes provide an instructor that will help motivate you and keep your workouts safe to avoid injury.

4. Get involved in an activity or club. Have you ever thought of getting involved in an activity such as tennis, swimming, golf, softball or a running club? Organized sports activities and clubs provide a great environment for working out with like minded people. In addition, sports groups and clubs are the perfect way to keep you interested, involved and on a training schedule.

5. Set short and long term goals. First and foremost, it’s important to be realistic with your goals. Whether your goals are to lose weight, improve endurance, excel at a sport or simply to become more active, goals can be a great way to keep yourself on track. Make sure to track your progress as well. Whether you journal your steps toward your goals or create a calendar or use an app on your phone, keep a record of the steps you are taking to reach your goals and by what date you would like to reach your goals. Each person is different and each person’s goals should be specific to you and your fitness level and lifestyle.

6. Adopt healthy eating habits. Not only are your workouts important but so is healthy eating. If you want to improve your fitness level, lose weight and become healthier, you’ll need to fuel your body properly. Make sure to hydrate, eat whole fresh foods and try to eliminate processed foods from your diet. Plan your weekly meals, journal your food daily and remember to reward yourself at the end of each week for all of your hard work. Remember, it’s about lifestyle – not deprivation.

A healthy lifestyle doesn’t happen overnight. But with a consistent workout routine, healthy eating and healthy habits, you’re one step closer to your goal. Sit down and devise a workout schedule and a healthy eating schedule. Being prepared can help you stay on track and ensure you stick to your new healthy regimen.

Tips On How To Select The Best Dog Probiotic Supplement

Just like humans, dogs can also suffer from gastrointestinal disorders from time to time. In fact, according to various studies, gastrointestinal issues are the second most common health problem in dogs, after skin diseases. The common causes of these gastrointestinal illnesses include parasites such as hookworm, giardia, and whipworm and giardia. A dog's tendency to eat anything such as table scraps, rubbish in the trash can, and drinking from the toilet are also some of the usual causes of gastrointestinal diseases.

Many trusted vets say that to resolve acute and chronic gastrointestinal disorders, giving dogs probiotic supplements is a good idea. When dogs ingest these supplemental probiotics, the gut-dwelling "good bacteria" can help in assisting digestion and fend off gastrointestinal maladies in your canine friends.

There are various probiotic supplements for dogs in the market today. How can you make sure you will be choosing the best one for your pet? Below are some tips you can follow:

Read the species and strains of probiotics the product has.

A good supplement should have at least 10 stains or species of probiotics. To illustrate this, take for example Lactobacillus acidophilus – a particular form of probiotic. If you are buying a product that has this ingredient, take note that Lactobacillus is the genus, acidphilus is the species, and DDS-1 is the strain. The product you will buy should include at least 10 of the above examples. Keep in mind that the more strains the product has, the better since its diversity will ensure that the good flora in your dog's gastrointestinal tract is varied enough to protect against all of the bad strains of bacteria.

Take note of the number of Colony Forming Units or CFUs per gram.

CFUs are a scientific measurement of the viable microbes or bacteria in a probiotic. Make sure that the dog probiotic supplement you get contains at least 20 million CFUs per gram. However, a product that contains billions of CFUs is, of course, more desirable. This is to ensure that enough viable probiotics reach the gastrointestinal system of the dog.

Make sure the product meets the GMP requirements.

Don't be easily misled by any product that claims to be probiotic. Some of these products may not even contain any clinically validated strains. To make sure that you will be purchasing the best probiotic supplement for your dog, choose one that meets or exceeds the 'Good Manufacturing Products' or GMP ISO Requirements. Some products may have labels that do not contain this detail so take the time to contact the manufacturer or go online.

Check the specified storage conditions.

Finally, find out where the product has to be stored to ensure maximum survival of the probiotic. Some products may also call for specialized storage requirements that you may not be able to meet so take the time to follow this tip.
